If you are a nerd, brainiac, or bookworm, Google Scholar is probably in your favorites bar. But to the rest of the world, this free service is relatively unknown.
Created in 2004, the Google Scholar index provides access to thousands of academic journals and publications for students, researchers, and the smart folks among us.
Google Scholar is also a popular resource for law students and others interested in case law research.
However, it can be useful for research on general topics as well. Many of the links in the search engine lead to free resources and online access. Some links will lead to paid online sources, or sites restricted to current higher education students. It is reported that almost 200 million pages of information are available through this special search engine.
It’s a free service. Check it out…
